A closed needle biopsy is much safer and less invasive than an open biopsy. I have a lump on my limb. Should I just get it removed immediately?
No, you should never remove a lump without knowing exactly what it is. If the lump is a sarcoma (cancer), “shelling it out” without a proper margin can leave cancer cells behind and lead to recurrence. No, it is definitely not the end of the road. While it indicates stage 4 disease, modern treatments can effectively control the disease, relieve pain, and prevent fractures.
